Today I got my swab kit in the mail for the Be The Match registry. I swabbed the insides on my cheeks, and when I send them back I'll be added to the registry. I still encourage everyone to look into joining as well. Visit BeTheMatch.org for all the information you will ever need. The stories I have read are amazing, and you could have the potential to save another person's life. It could be anyone from a 60 year old all the way down to a toddler. There are lots of people that never end up a match for someone, and there are lots of people that can never find the match they need. Tomorrow we are going to Starkville, MS for a track meet at Mississippi State. I am running the third leg of the 4x1, and the first leg of the 4x4. Hopefully all goes well. I realized earlier that I wasn't sure where my uniform is. After each meet Luke and I do our laundry for the week and hang our uniforms on the top of the closet door to dry. I haven't used it since Tennesee State, so it hasn't moved from that spot since the last weekend in January. I can only imagine the dust it has collected up there.

It's not that I'm too busy to write a blog... it's because I'm too lazy. Guess I should do that while I'm here. Tomorrow I have a test in Fluids. Hopefully it goes well. Today we got our Dymanics tests back, and my teacher hands them out alphabetically by last name. Mr. Arnold, Ms. A__, Mr. B___, Ms. B___, Mr. Beck, ..... Of course he looks at the name and thinks it is a guy. This is actually second time he has done it. He apologized and said, "Well it is a gender neutral name." It was funny. I'm used to it after a few years of hearing it. The only difference now is that people can actually figure out what my last name is. Before it was always, "Alex Lopez-R...." It was a pain sometimes, but I miss my maiden name. It was the only thing I had to show for being half Cuban. Now I am just a white girl with a white name. Oh well. I am running at Mississippi State this weekend. CT asked if I will be on the 4x1. I think we are practicing hand offs on Thursday. I did my first real workout today, and my foot actually feels a lot better. I'm a little nervous about putting the spikes back on, but hopefully it goes well. CT was pleased with my workout today. She said I had pretty good times for being out almost 2 months. I am happy to be back at practice, but I really liked having more time during the day for homework. Back to night cramming. I've had to cut back on my Swap-botting. Not enough time lately. I have received lots more ATCs though and I had to upgrade my box. I couldn't cram the lid on any longer. I started using the cardboard recipe box that I bought for $1 before Danni and Granny gave me my awesome metal Campbell's box. It is the perfect size for now. Lots of room to grow. I'm going to study now before I get tired and nothing makes sense.

How doth the little crocodile improve his shining tale?

Today is International Women's Day, and Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras. What a combo. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, and I'm thinking about going to the evening service at the church Luke and I went to this Sunday. There was probably about 30 people there, and other than us there were 3 young people. When I say young I mean under 50. It was a nice church. I really liked their stained glass, and the preacher was good. We are thinking about going back. There are plenty of other churches that we would like to visit too though. I'll be going to the service by myself tomorrow because my dear husband is flying to New Mexico for the national track meet. I was going to make him an airplane bag with treats and things to keep him entertained, but he just came back from the convenience store all stocked up. There goes that plan.

I have a dynamics test Thursday. I don't like dynamics. I don't like any of the mechanical classes I'm taking. Us civils are outnumbered by the mechanicals and aeros in most of my classes right now. I'll join my bridge building, dirt loving peers soon enough.

Don't forget... if you drink any beverage with a bottle cap (metal not plastic) keep it for me. My collection is growing very slowly. I found one on the ground today outside Tech Hall. I would also like it if you were to keep any Coke product caps. This includes Sprite and Powerade. Luke and I have been collecting them and entering the codes to save up for some prize on the website. Whenever I find them on the ground I enter the code and throw it away. Reminds me of the time Danni and I were walking from her school after registration and I saw a large McDonald's cup on the ground. Whoever consumed the drink must have not noticed the peel off coupon for a free smoothie. So I snatched it up and we had a delicious free smoothie. I also find lots of change on the ground too. I've paid for a few loads of laundry with it, and I have a good stash of pennies going.

Stormy Saturday

Hello One and All!! Step right up for the experience of a lifetime! Once I figure out what it is... I'll let you know.

This morning Luke and I used my IHOP birthday coupon. Luke used it to get a free meal, and I just got hash browns and took one of his pancakes. It was the perfect amount for the both of us. There is a track meet at A&M today, but it is raining so hard that coach decided that only the distance runners would go compete.

I was very busy yesterday preparing swaps to send out. The swap is called Zentangle My Name. After looking on Google images for a while I decided that zentangling was just doodling. With this swap we had to spell our partners name, one letter on each ATC. Whoever got Alex is lucky... sadly I didn't get myself and ended up with Barbara. I decided that my favorite thing to doodle is trees, so I got to work.

The next one was just a plain ole zentangle.Then I did a Christian ATC. The key is actually a key chain that I've had for at least 5 years if not longer. A friend found it at a garage sale and gave it to me. The words really spoke to me it has been on my key chain since... but broke off a weeks ago. I took this as a sign that it needed a new life and should be passed on to someone else who might need it. I'm pleased with the result.This is another swap that I sent a while back. I forgot to take a picture of it and the girl I sent it to was nice enough to send me a picture. It was a swap called the I love Swapbot Ultimate Swap. You had to make a postcard, ATC, and matchbox that all have to include the Swapbot mascot Ernie the Envie... envie short for envelope. For mine I used a chocolate wrapper to make the matchbox gold, and little Ernies inside of it with some buttons.Now for the stuff I have received! First, what I got in the Ultimate Swap. The ATC is Hogwarts themed and has 2 dachshunds on it. She read my profile and made added some things I like.I also got my third Audrey Hepburn ATC. Still waiting for 2 more.
