Happy Belated Birthday Danni

I am so happy to be done with my fluids class!!! My final was yesterday, so now I have 3 finals left. They aren't until Monday and Tuesday so I have lots of study time, but I don't really like when they are so close together.

My lovely sister Danni turned 18 yesterday. She can finally join swap-bot... and if she so desires, buy cigaretts and porn. I'm pretty sure she isn't interested in the last two though. Hahaha
Isn't she beautiful?

This is the number 7 ATC I made last week. I'm thinking about working on the number 8 ATC tonight. I'd rather get it done now so I don't have to think about it closer to my finals.

Easter is now over, and I only have 7 Cadbury eggs left. This is really very sad news because as soon as I finish them I won't get anymore for another year. What am I going to do with myself? I'll just have to try and make them last a bit longer.

Still On Day 1

Here I go again... Day 1 of my 30 Day Challenge. If you don't mind... I need some extra encouragement. This is really hard.
This weekend I made 2 more ATCs.
On the first one I used the bunny from the Cadbury egg box. Good thing we buy a few boxes at a time because I had to make 3 of those ATCs. I liked the second ATC until I messed it up with my terrible handwriting.
This weekend is my last track meet of the season. It feels strange because normally by this point in the season I am exhausted and my body is getting ready for a break. This year however, I feel just peachy. This weekend I am doing the 4x1, 4x4, and pole vault. I got my pv practice for the year in today. Hopefully it goes well.
Today Luke and I had to help work a middle school track meet. He ran the high jump and I did the long jump. I was so funny to see them in their basketball shoes pick some random spot on the runway and just take off. I caught the end of the high jump, and it was pretty funny too.
This is an ad for the Graffiti Theatre and Dance Company for this summer's Alice in Wonderland. This picture is of my face! That was my make up as a chorus member in Wiley and the Hairyman. I was creepy.

Stormy Friday

Recently I have thought about turning the water off in the shower in between using it (while shampoo-ing or what have you.) The problem with that though is it would only be about 30 seconds or less at a time, so it makes me feel like that torturous burst of cold every time I turn the shower back on is not quite worth it. Luckily I have had a revelation! About a week ago I said something about it, and Passen said, "Oh yeah... with the thing you twist on the shower head?" At that a little light bulb clicked on over my head. I have noticed those little "knobs" that you can twist near the top of the shower heads, but it had never occurred to me what they were. So in my shower the other day I twisted it while washing my face and like magic the water level went down drastically, but I could still keep the warm water going. Hazaa! Now to share the wonders of good music. The Show Ponies are a great duet, and everyone should listen to them on Facebook. They can also be found on YouTube and MySpace... that I know of. They are pretty unknown at this point, and really need help getting off the ground, so if you want to help them out check out this site.
I have a program on the computer that is for scrapbooking and these are a few of the pages that I've done.

Harry Potter 7 part 1 came out on DVD today, so Luke has been asking and asking when we are going to Walmart to get it. I guess that is going to be pretty soon or he is going to start acting it out himself.

First I would like to start with the ATCs I made this weekend. I did one for "April Showers..." (Bring May Flowers will come later). I also hosted my very first swap. I called it Altered Celebrity ATC, and I made Alien Audrey. I received a zombie Marlyn Monroe that is pretty good.
This weekend we are going to Auburn for our track meet. I'm running the 200. CT has me doing one race a week to preserve me for regionals. I'm guessing I'll run the 4x1, 400, and the 4x4 at regionals. We'll see. My foot hasn't really hurt in at least a week now. I don't think I've felt any discomfort since at least Monday.

I'm sorry these posts are so short and boring. I just haven't been doing anything interesting outside of school and track. I honestly don't know where my days go. Makes me feel useless.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The weather outside felt so good today! I'm tired of all the rain and clouds. Luke was so grumpy last week when it was gray and cloudy. The weather is supposed to be really nice at Ole Miss this weekend. I'm only running the 4x400 this weekend. It will be me, Leah, Shea, and Latrice. It is going to be a long day. We are leaving for Oxford, MS around 5 am, and the 4x400 isn't until around 7 pm. If the weather forecast is correct I'll be needing lots of sunscreen and lots of water. I'm nervous about running a good time, but I'm going to try my best. Ole Miss has such a fast track. This is the meet that I wanted to break 57 this year. Guess I'll have to wait until next year.

I've cut back on my swapping because I'm pretty busy lately, but I have a healthy little collection going. I had to upgrade from a Fossil wallet box to a recipe box. Some of them I want to trade, and others I am in love with. That's the beauty of ATCs.

This is a swap I did called Celebration of Color - Green. I posted the one I did for blue a while back.

For this one I used a thin, foam packing material and my Sharpie paint markers. I might make a few more.

I have a math test tomorrow. I know most of it, but I need to go back and look at a few things to make sure I really understand it.

Luke and I went to a different church this past Sunday. Ethan has been going there so he invited us. The music and service were good. I think we are going back next Sunday. I filled out a guest card, and they sent me an email about their Monday night bible study for college age students. I'm interested in going next Monday to see if I like it.

Bad Habbits are Hard to Break

I Googled what my personality should be according to my favorite color, and this is what I found. I would like to think is accurate... you tell me. Green is the color of healing. Green personalities want to help every one. They are natures mothers. These people are usually in the medical profession or some occupation which helps people. Preferring to watch rather than to become involved in others business, they usually keep their thoughts secret. Others see them as good listeners because of this quality. This characteristic makes them wonderful counselors. Others take for granted that the green personality can see more than one side to a situation without bias. Green personalities make others feel at home in their house by putting them at ease immediately. They try to take care of others with all the care their mothers gave them. Peacemaker is their sworn duty. They want harmony in every one's life. Green personalities may even stop an argument between others by starting one themselves. Others think that green personalities make the best of friends because they are jovial, caring and can keep a secret. In order for a green personality to feel good about themselves, they have to be helping someone or something. Nurturers by choice, they are the ones who take care of animals, humans and plants. Green personalities need to be careful not to make martyrs of themselves. This is something they easily can do. This next bit is going to be hard for me to share with you, but I have to do it. The other day I was thinking about my picking habit. People always tell me to stop doing it, but They Have No Idea How Hard It Is!!!!!!!! It is like a smoker trying to quit cigs! It is like a habit because I don't realize I'm doing it sometimes. It is like an addiction because when I am aware of it I don't want to stop... I like it. No... I love it. I pick my fingers, scabs, lips, pimples.... anything I can get my fingers on. I will even pick on Luke. Picking tape off anything, glue off a desk, a sticker, a label... anything you can think of, gives me a great satisfaction when I've picked it off. I've done it for as long as I can remember. I remember being in first of second grade and picking the skin off my fingers. For the longest time I didn't think anything of it. I have never met another person that does it. Ever. It wasn't until I was watching George Lopez this summer and a person he was interviewing said they did it. I was amazed! I couldn't believe there was another person out there that picked the heck out of their fingers. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I saw a tv show all about picking. The people picked their bodies so badly that it was disgusting. It made me realize that I have a real problem. I was curious to see if there was such thing as rehab for this kind of addiction. I Googled it and found a forum all about picking. It was amazing. There were so many people on there all sharing their struggles and tips to quit. Some of the tips were things I've half heatedly tried before and didn't work, but I have found something I want to try. A 30 day challenge. I have to go 30 days without picking anywhere on my body. If I mess up I have to start over. I could be 29 days in and have to start over. The person on the forum said getting started was really hard, but she was on day 10 when she posted. I was really inspired. Luke is going to help me, and we decided on a reward for when I finish the 30 days. He is going to take me camping. I know this is going to be hard and I'll probably have to start over a lot, but I am determined this time. On that tv show, they said that most picking comes from OCD. I'm sure this is the root of mine... I put my clothes in my closet my color, I have to put on my right show before my left, and I have this crazy pattern thing I do with my hands that I can't even begin to explain to you. I could have the left shoe in my hand, but I can't put it on until I have torn the room apart looking for the right one. I have actually done better with that lately. If I happen to pick up the left first I force myself to put it on and then think, "See... that wasn't so bad." I know I sound crazy. I feel crazy. I stopped the hand pattern thing in middle school when one of my friends asked me about it. I'll only start it every once in a while now and make myself stop immediately. I'm slightly embarrassed to be sharing this with lots of people, but I have to do it to help keep me accountable. I want to do this. I want to quit. I don't know if that spiel makes sense, but I don't want to read it to see.
